OUR MISSION
Give a Little, Give a Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization centered around empowerment. We focus on bringing mindfulness based practices to under-served communities, as an organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children overcome the challenges of craniofacial birth defects. As we begIts aim is to reach families all over the nation and help as many affected children as possible. To do this, Give a Little, Give a Life funds surgeries, dental care, orthodontic care, and other medical procedures for those affected by cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial birth defects. Our funds also contribute to counseling, resources, and programs for affected families.
WHO WE IMPACT
The funds that are collected through Give a Little, Give a Life are donated to other non-profit organizations that perform necessary medical procedures and offer extensive programs for affected children. The founder, Jenny Wechter, also works directly with families in the Texas community who are affected by craniofacial birth defects through family support programs. In 2017, she worked with the patients and families of the craniofacial clinic at Dell Children's Center, leading a program called Healing Space: a mindfulness meditation and yoga-based support group for children going through the craniofacial treatment journey.
One of the major beneficiaries of Give a Little, Give a Life is the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona, whose founder is Jenny's doctor since birth, Dr. Stephen Beals. She looks forward to continuing to work with them, as well as other non-profits, including the Smile Train, Smile Network, and Southwest Plastic Surgery.
HOW WE DO IT
Bracelets and t-shirts are sold online and at local boutiques in El Paso and Austin, TX. The first bracelet in our collection is a silver bracelet with an engraving of the quote, “be the change you wish to see in the world,” signifying the reason Give a Little, Give a Life was founded. Additionally, we sell a bohemian beaded bracelet that comes in an array of colors, signifying our need to embrace individuality. In addition to selling bracelets, we sell t-shirts to spread awareness of the cause, which are so soft they're bound to become favorite sleep tees.
